The Friends of the Boise Public Library (FOBPL) hold a weekend sale twice a year. The Fall sale just ended today and there were so many fantastic books and holiday items at ridiculously low prices -- what an awesome event. The shoppers are an interesting mix of professional shoppers (own bookstores or a side business), teachers, avid readers, and those... More

I love the library, despite it resembling a homeless shelter at times. I mainly check out graphic novels and collected editions. Who ever buys the comics over there has great taste. As an additional bonus, they sell a bunch of them at the Boise Comic con every year, which they put on, and which is awesome.

This is my go to place when I can't remember the title of a book only what it is about. Someone on the staff always knows. The Library is also up on the most current titles for youth. They also have a great collection of graphic novels, books on CD and large selection of books to check out. Did I... More

I'm a huge fan of the Boise Public Libraries. From the exclamation point to all that they offer. Books, yes, but so much more. 3D printers, robots you can check out, Comicon, game night, the list goes on. If you live in Boise and don't take advantage of the libraries, you're missing out!

I needed somewhere to work on few personal things on my computer the other day and decided to give the library a try. There were a bunch of people there! I was kind of hoping to have a little more space to myself, but was able to log onto the internet for a couple hours that I needed it and... More

The Boise Downtown Library is first rate. I love going in there and seeing what the Staff Picks are as well as what's new. The hold service is just amazing and free. I can request a hold and if it's checked in, it's waiting for me in a couple of days. Easy! This review does not do justice to how... More

Dear Boise: Do you know how fortunate you are, to have the library you have? Travelers: if your envelope with the map to your hotel got lost/ blown away, come recoup a printout upstairs in the tech center like we did, and meanwhile be amazed at their '3-D printer' their cardholders can use! There might be a queue for using... More

We didn't stop in, but walked by. We were intrigued by the name, Library! It just screams for you to come in and check things out.

With multiple locations all over the valley, the library system in this area is amazing. Online access is easy to use. If you can't find something at your local library, you can get online to see if it's at any of the other locations. Then request it and they'll let you know when it's on the hold shelf at your... A nice large, quiet, architectural building. With lots of books. Close to the University and food and shopping.
