I've lived here for years but didn't know much about the history of the train depot and the railroad in general. I attended an "open house" with live entertainment and a tour of the depot, including the vast knowledge of our host -- very interesting!

I was only disappointed for a few seconds when we discovered it closed, but when I turned around the view made it worth it. walk down the path to the garden and look at the magnificent views.

Went to visit a locomotive moving through. The scenic views were worth the time to look at. Need to stop again.

Fun stop! Enjoyed a nice block see in the trains and how people used to travel as well as a few little train sets running inside it was a fun afternoon.

The view from the bell tower was spectacular in February, '17 when there was still plenty of snow on the mountains and the air at the depot was fairly warm and very clear. Great parking, interesting-but limited- exhibits and a very pleasant, well-informed docent. There...More

There is no charge. My mother in law told me that every tour of Boise should start here because it is so impressive. Make sure you take the elevator up. There used to be a guy that would come and feed the koi at the same... More
