This relatively new venue seats quite a few people looking onto the north fork of the Payette River. So you can watch the river flow by while lectures take place or you can lose yourself alone while watching the ripples with the valley and mountains beyond. Located just south of Cascade, this lovely park and building commemorate Two people as... More

We've watched this grow after stopping to check it out a few years ago. Nice break area, clean and nice facilities, warm in winter and lots of action events for summer. Older kids better for activities and we still have to try some rentals. Worth the stop. Would be nice to have a food truck or vendor but it will... More

My girlfriend is a bubblehead (white water kayaker) and thoroughly enjoyed this park. She surfed in her kayak on two consecutive days. People politely waited their turns to surf, and there were seldom more than half-a-dozen or so people in line. This is a great, free park. An air conditioned building with a sitting area and restrooms is located on... More

We visited late on a Monday and decided to tube despite the cooler temperature. We had our own gear and stuck to the easier right side. We took out not far from the visitors center and did the run a few times. This is why we decided to stay in Cascade and it was worth it!

My husband and I checked out the water park in the afternoon and it was beautiful. Ospreys, ducks, dragonflies were plentiful. Picnic grounds, horseshoes, and bocce ball were all available. A nice visitor center with information on things to do and nice, well kept bathrooms. A tube rental tent was set-up and we rented two tubes for $8 each for... More

We first stumbled upon this spot a year ago. Hidden gem. Picnic spot, great visitor center, watch or take part in water sports and fishing. Clean and great design. Now the community center with geothermal is in, the pool is next. This will be a great draw for the community.

A nice surprise - I parked at the Pond area and took the bike trail from there to the Park and a little beyond. It's only paved for a part of the way and then it's rocky, so for my taste, best on foot or if you have a mountain bike (which I do not). Lovely water and mountain views.

Has suck great history, and wide open spaces to visit. The deer, moose and lots of birds hang out along the river. It is pretty cool to watch the wildlife mixing with the people.

This is the Payete river, not a water slide park. Man made rapids that challenges experts, the world finals were staged here. Yet plenty for beginners to try. For kayak's, standup boarders and tubers of all ages this is a great place to recreate. Sunbathers can relax on the lawn and watch the people in the water. Fantastic bathrooms and... More

Kelly's Whitewater Park is a great place to practice kayaking on man-made whitewater. If prefer to use a Stand Up Paddle-board (SUP), it is also a great place to work on more advanced skills. As a beginner SUPer, this water is a little advanced for me. I prefer smooth water SUP locations like Payette Lake's North Beach. If you are... More
