Awesome wide open spaces not far from town. We visited Frenchman's Bend Hot Springs...it was amazing. Can't wait to explore more of the Sawtooth,

I have hiked and ran over 2200 miles of trails in the Sawtooths over the past 30 years (that means I have done many trails more than a few times, and untold miles of off-trail adventures). I am an Idaho native, and I do travel frequently, but I keep going back here all the time. They are 'My" mountains. I... More

My wife and I picked Idaho, more specifically the Sawtooth National Forest, as our Labor Day weekend destination and I’m glad we did. The area is beautiful and well maintained and there are a number of trails…we selected one that took us to the Bench lakes near Redfish lake…it was a nice steady upward climb to several vista views of... We took a drive through the Wilderness Area on our way to Redfish Lake. Such breathtaking landscapes to behold ! Like nothing we've ever seen and can't wait to go back again someday.

Loved visiting the Sawtooths! We stayed in Hailey, which is about a 30-40 min drive south of the Sawtooth mountain range. We didn't quite drive all the way up to Stanley because we kept stopping to get out and explore. We tried the Norton Lake hike and got about 1/2 mile up before we had to turn back because of... I am very fortunate to live in such close proximity to the Sawtooth Mountain Range. Since childhood, I've spent a great deal of time in these mountains and have never taken them for granted. It is in this range I find adventure, beauty, solace and comfort. While visiting Ketchum, please make the effort to journey 40 minutes north of town... More

Miles and miles of beauty. This is a magnificent area. (I would say awesome. But it's such a useless, over-used word, isn't it?) See all the photos here? They don't come close to the reality. And, even then - right in the middle of it all - it's hard to believe.

Born and raised in Idaho, traveled the world for pleasure and business, but always delight in the returning to the Sawtooth Mountains in Central Idaho, undiscovered by most main stream travelers, a little out of the way, but worthy of the inconvenience. Ketchum to Stanley Idaho such a nice stop at Redfish Lake, Stanley Lake, a visit to Marsh Creek,... More

Gorgeous vistas; amazing drives; beautiful lakes. It was stunningly beautiful in the fall foliage (mid-September). This time is between the summer and winter ski seasons, so very quiet and peaceful.
