It's hard to lose with a location like this. But the park has added amenities by incorporating a very nice trail system with frequent views of the lake. Great for hiking or biking.

Very calm place with beautiful lake. Lake is shallow and good to swim.. Slightly cold water ( May ). Parking is free. Restrooms are available.

Ponderosa state park is great place for biking, hiking, enjoying breathtaking scenery or just relaxing. Clean campground with enough space unless you travel with huge camper. Lake is clean . Bevare of mosquitos, somehow they love the place too!

We stayed here in our RV in the fall of 2017. It was beautiful, peaceful and great walking trails. The campsite was spacious which is what we love about the State and National Parks. Staff were great at check in.

We spent the afternoon snowshoeing in Ponderosa state park. The trails for snowshoeing were well covered with snow since they had not had snow for awhile. Great views of the lake and a few restrooms were open. Enjoyable way to enjoy the outdoors with family.

We took the drive out to the end where there is an overlook of Payette Lake. Quite a view from up there. Also, if you get a chance to go in mid June, the wild onions are blooming in mass which give the illusion of...More

The park map should have the maximum foot length on the campsites where you make reservations. My favorite are the loops in the old part, Aspen, Blackberry, Chokecherry.

Stan, sorry we can't give you any feedback on the campsites other than it all looked pretty in there. We were only spending the day there. Fishing was not good for us or anyone else that we could see in the area.
