My husband and I visited this museum a couple weeks ago. It's a large facility with a huge assortment of fine arts. I was so pleased to visit, especially when we found a room full of Claude Monet's work, a half a room of Van...More

This was included in the Chicago City Pass we purchased. We were able to redeem in the FastPass line as the doors opened. I recommend getting the audio which was included with the City Pass. It allows you to hear more details about many items...More

We had such a great time going through the museum. Always stop by pritzker gallery on the second floor and talk to Ms Webster. She is a guard but knows so much about the impressionist art! She is good with kids and shows them such...More

There is always so much for all interests across the family. I gravitate to then impressionists on second floor. I like the newer addition (at least new to me) and the little cafe between.

The only bad part about the Art Institute is its opening hours: they're just too short! (Unless you go on Thursdays!) There is just so much worth seeing. If you're like me and want to see every single thing, either prepare a full Thursday for...More

I've been to the Louvre, the Musee 'dOrsay, and the Vatican museums - all of which are the standard of world-class collections and masterpieces of the world. The Art Institute of Chicago rivals that level excellence. Its masterpieces and facilities will not disappoint

Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a
good starting point to sample the city's energy and

Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier
shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep
your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many
photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of

I would also suggest you get the headset where you punch in a number and your hear a fuller explanation about the art work. It cost $7. Highly recommended.

Yes! And you can purchase it on line and print it out at home. I don't think it is very much more expensive than general admission either. Go for it !
