You could come back to the AIC every day and not see everything. We were most interested in the creche - and we were not disappointed. After viewing the creche we spent a lot of time in the area of the impressionists. What an outstanding collection! We will be back to enjoy this national treasure!

If you love the arts even a little bit, this is not to be missed in Chicago. Absolutely amazing collection of some of the best artwork in the world - Van Gogh, Cezanne, Rodin, Monet, Renoir and many more. Sculptures from across the world dating back to the 6th and 7th century. Miniatures, Photographs, contemporary art ...! One can easily... More

We spent the better part of a day here on a recent trip. Their collection is fantastic and rivaled the art we had just enjoyed at some of the finest museums in Italy! The staff at the museum was also great! This is a "not to miss" destination!

My husband and I were eager to visit this museum. It did not disappoint. We started in the Asian Art collection and walked our way through Japanese and Central Asian art from gorgeously woven bowls to delicate enameled and articulated pieces and by stone carvings of bodhisatvas and Buddahs. One of the security guards even encouraged us to take a... More

We visited the Art Institute for two specific exhibits. The Neapolitan Creche and the latest Photography exhibit. From what I understand, the Creche exhibit is only open for viewing for about 40 days during the Holiday season. It is worth the trip just to see this exhibit. The photography exhibit was unique and thought provoking.

Always a treat to visit such an outstanding museum and even though there were no special exhibits, it is still worth a visit. The Chicago Architecture, Paperweights, and Miniature Exhibits were wonderful. We ate in the restaurant which we had never done and it was outstanding.
