Neighbourhood: South Loop
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you happen to visit during football season, you may bump into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park is one of Chicago’s premier locations for green space and recreation with views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Take a stroll down memory lane in the historic Prairie District where you can enjoy views of old historic homes. Restaurants, theaters, and clubs are spread throughout the neighborhood along with a collection of burger joints along Michigan Avenue just across from the park.

Went here as we had city pass. It was pretty neat seeing everything this museum had. I remember the t rex and I love how the museum is near the lake. Great for kids. To me it’s a one and done.

The exhibits were all great, plenty of information. My favorites were Inside Ancient Egypt and Sue the T-Rex. I am officially a big fan of Sue, like so many others, and really loved learning all we know about her.
Why I gave this three stars was due to my staff experiences. Upon checking in the lady who issued our tickets had a bad attitude about my needing her to speak up. The facility is loud and she used a small voice that made it extremely difficult to hear. I told her we needed two tickets and she ended up charging me for two adults instead of one child and one adult. I did not know the prices going in and I took her word on the price. It makes the world of difference when customer service tries just a little harder than the effort she gave.

We came here and went through the history of the plant exhibit. It was really interesting and we loved learning about Sue the T-Rex. The exhibit also talked about the formation of the planet, each of the extinction periods and has a lot of great information. The museum has a variety of exhibits and is located in an area with several other museums, making it easy to visit a couple on the same day. I would recommend visiting if you are in Chicago.

Huge natural history museum with tons of exhibits. If you have a dinosaur lover in your group they will be in heaven. Lots of (mildly macabre) exhibits of stuffed animals from around the world - cool to see them but sad to think that they were once alive. Really cool Egyptian exhibit too. We spent about 2 hours here only going through a few sections but you could easily spend much longer.

Watch out for pickpockets! Yes...in the museum. My wallet was taken right out of my purse while I was viewing exhibits.
Exhibits, themselves, are terrific. Wide variety for all, and nicely done. We spent almost a full day and didnt see it all.
We'll go back...just watch and protect ourselves from thieves. Never would I have thought to be wary inside such a nice museum.

Death: Life‘s Greatest Mystery is one of the best shows they’ve had here in a long time. SO well curated, even to the inclusion of little spots for quiet respite/reflection. The impermanence of existence is explored in so many different ways, from so many different viewpoints; the introductory montage of images alone is profound. Really, really excellent work.

The favorites of our trip were the pyramid, with original stone and a real mummy, and the dinosaur exhibit with Sue the T Rex as the finale. We would have liked a 3D movie too but after we walked all the way over there they told us t hey weren't running that day so ask when you check in.

Was only in downtime Chicago for a couple of days.
Had a visit here for a few hours but wished I'd had much more time as there is plenty to see.
Would like to revisit.
