My husband and I spent about 3-4 hours at the Field Museum, but needed more time and had to leave when they closed at 5pm. We loved looking at the Native American exhibits as well as the Egyptian section. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to do the temporary exhibits which is disappointing since I was very interested in... More

This was quite simply the best collection of animals I've come across. Our son was amazed at all of the exhibits and had so much fun. Sue was great, but she was just an appetizer. Even the cafe was the best I have ever seen in a museum setting. Healthy options were all well prepared and very tasty. Make sure... More

We visited this museum with two young kids and we all loved it. Probably spend 5 hours. It has a lot of things interesting for little kids as well. Underground adventure was great for little ones. 3D movies are 25 min long and well done. Amazing assortment of animals, plants, rocks....And Egipt piraminds were amazing.

You have to make a choice if you only have a day because there is so much to see. I suggest you check into the information desk as they have free tour. We went on the "essential tour". It took about one hour and the volunteer took us to all three floor. She showed us something in each wing to... More

A great place for learning. Be sure to check their website before you come to Chicago, as they often have some great special exhibits that might require purchasing tickets beforehand due to their popularity. And I believe that those tickets include any admission fees.

I loved seeing all the dinosaur fossils and many other things. It's huge I'm not really a museum fan but it was very interesting.

The Field Museum has to be one of the best museums in the world! The museum is huge, But it is so well designed that you can identity the priority galleries to visit if you have limited time. The exhibits are beautifully laid out and the building itself is inspiring. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff throughout. The museum store is... More

Better in many ways than the Smithsonian. The animal displays are great and the cost for entrance is reasonable. You could easily spend a day here with or without kids.

On a windy, cold Spring day in Chicago we set off for the Field Museum. We had read somewhere that it could be done in 2 hours. No way would that be possible. The Egyptian exhibit is very good, Sue the T Rex is extremely interesting, as is the 3D film about her. In fact all of the exhibits were... More

When I walked into the museum, I was expecting a pretty good experience. Then I met Sue, who is displayed smack in the middle of the main floor! She is the most complete T-Rex fossil skeleton ever found, only missing something like 6 small bones fom her tail! Standing next to her will take your breath away! The rest of... More
