I always wanted to walk up and down the magnificent mile and go shopping and I did! It is a crowded area and more touristy. There were flowers along the way and there are a variety of stores to go in and browse or shop.

This was our first trip to Chicago and we can't begin to express how impressed we were with the city and the people. The Magnificent Mile was beautiful, clean and full of a diverse selection of stores. The tons of flowers in big cement planters...More

We are not shoppers, so our experience might be different from that of others, but we really enjoyed our walk around Michigan Avenue. There seem to be endless buildings around Chicago with wonderful details. They are truly a delight to the eye.

This avenue is really nice, with a lot of flagship retail stores, but also the buildings are nice, very wide and cheerfull place to just walk around and or shopping, nice and clean and neet. Very pleasant avenue.

The Magnificent Mile is chock full of upscale luxury fashion stores, top named brand stores, and so many restaurants. You can walk freely about, so wear good walking shoes. So much fun!

Great stores to explore and while many offer discounts I am not so sure there are any real bargains in the high end retailers here.

Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.
