I was in Chicago for a visit and needed to get some work done, so I spend much of the day in the Harold Washington Library. It's a beautiful old building, both inside and out, with tons of great places to sit. If I had had time, I could have taken advantage of all kinds of amenities and facilities, but... More

In town for BEA, I had to check out this library. The layout was a bit hard to figure out what was where, but I kept on exploring. The dog tag honoring veterans was touching! A place to see for any book lover.

Schedule a time when there is a Makerspace activity once a month if you have young kids. They have a quick project that uses a laser cutter and 3D printer. Our kids loved it. Make sure to go to the 9th floor. It's a great space with great architecture to match the exterior.

This library can be visited for its architectural design and its large book and information collection. In addition, the library center also presents lectures and discussions. For $3.00 last June I had the rare opportunity during the Printers Row Lit Fest to listen to one of the few men alive who has walked on the moon. Buzz Aldrin in conversation... More

Pretty cool place to visit in Chicago. The building is massive and a work of art on its own. Different pieces of art throughout the library were also amazing to see.

This building is a historic landmark and the best library in the Midwest, Outstanding library. There is a children's center, a teen's center, a popular works location, over 100 public computers, and endless isles of books. It is easy to reserve a computer, you just need a library card, if you don't have one you can acquire one within minutes... More

It is located in the loop and is a typical architectural building. If you don't want to take some time to go Inside, just take a few minutes to admire the building from the outside

I only went to this library to view the 58,307 Vietnam veteran dog tags hanging from the ceiling. The story behind them is awe inspiring. And then you have the building itself. It's enormous inside an out and the figures on the roof are something else.

This library was huge and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We conducted business here daily for a couple of weeks and it was the perfect place. They have private rooms you can reserve for free. There is plenty of room to study. This was definitely one of the best libraries I've ever visited.
