This is the original Marshall Fields in downtown Chicago. This is a gorgeous building. Definitely a lot to choose from here. Be sure to check out the Lower Level which has an extensive wine store that typically has a wine tasting each week.

Clearly I am not yet over it. One of the most magnificent department stores of an era was purchased by, and replaced with, a middling generic imitation. The location of this store is perfect, but the store itself is *maybe* average.

So sad it is no longer Marshall Field's. But it is nothing to visit unless you get excited about visiting department stores.

Not use to stores this big where we come from. One whole floor just for men clothing and a very large selection to chose from. Only had an hour and a half and didn't see all of it.( train leaving ) Definitely will go back.

But The NYC store is much better. It is good shopping in the middle of the emerald city. Nothing particularly outstanding, but at Christmas it lights up.

This place has become a boring every kind of department store. The feel and history of the place has been destroyed by Macy's. I get that times change and stores change but this is just sad. They can't even do good Christmas windows anymore.

I was mostly interested in the building for its architectural and historical significance. Never managed to visit it when it was open. This was initial built in 1892 as the Marshall Fields flagship store. The iconic clocks on the corners set it aside. If you...More

So sad to see the character and class of the former Marshall Fields turned into this tacky, commercial cookie cutter department store. Lots of the things that made this place so special just aren't anymore. We use to go see the windows and Christmas every...More

Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a
good starting point to sample the city's energy and
flavor. This central business district boasts
Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier
shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep
your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many
photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of

No, Macy's does not have valet. It is better to walk there from your near by hotel.

the web site says: Shopping may be the star attraction on most visits to Macy's but over the holidays, tradition shines bright. As the first store to ever feature holiday windows for the pure fun and joy of the season... More
