This is an interesting and attractive neighborhood. Places of interest include the Museum of Science and Industry, the University of Chicago (particularly Rockafeller Chapel and the main quadrangle), the Midway, Robie House, and the Obama house, although during Obama's presidency you didn't get close to his house. I recommend Metra Electric train to 59th street, and a walk west along... More

Hyde Park is a beautiful neighborhood in Chicago that boasts the home of The University of Chicago, Rockefeller Chapel, Robie House (Frank Lloyd Wright) The Museum of Science and Industry and a beautiful lakefront. Well worth an afternoon visit in the Spring or Summer. Great place to view architecture.

This is a fascinating and beautiful area of Chicago boardering on Lake Michigan and the Campus of the University of Chicago....and there are little stores and restaurants reflecting the diversity of the area....but be cautious...there is some crime so you have to be aware.....however....you will feel as if you are in a small town boardering downtown Chicago....and it is worth... Nice higher end neighborhood. Passed by President Obama house, seen it from side, not much visible, street is block from one side. Passed by Ali house and former Elija Muhammad house, very close to each other

Loved the homes in this and the connecting neighborhood. Will not mention the names of the homes that I seen; out of respect for the owners. Could not get to close to some areas due to Secret Service....and that was fine too.

Strolled through here on my way to a museum. It's a very nice and well maintained area. I was even able to enjoy an arts fair along the way.

Hyde Park is a diverse place with many landmarks. The University of Chicago, The Robe House, Washington Park, and Obama's home. Our walk on guide toured us through this area of the city. Definitely built up with the University of Chicago.

The mixture of older restaurants such as Valois and ones such as Medici along with newer ones like Chant make Hyde Park a great place to experience a unique neighborhood in Chicago. There are also three historic bars: The Checkerboard, Woodlawn Tap, and the Cove Lounge that should be checked out. The proximity to University of Chicago as well as... More

We were visiting Uchicago with my daughter and after the tour walked around Hyde Park. Beautiful gentrified neighborhood. Felt safe.

We have visited many highlights in Hyde Park - including the Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House, Smart Museum of Art, Science & Industry Museum and the U of C. This weekend we went on an architectural tour of Kenwood - and it included a few homes in Hyde Park as well. The official boundaries of Hyde Park are 51st Street/Hyde... More
