    Dark Views,Great Time!
I recently visited the museum in Chicago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The ambience is creepy and fun! Obviously knowing those tortures were performed on real people is horrific, but learning about them is fascinating for me and the museum is great at providing information on them.
Thank you for the 5 star review! I’m glad you enjoyed learning more about torture in the museum. Please visit us again.

    Torture Museum delivers
Total gem in the heart of the city. We happened upon this impressive space while walking downtown taking in the other sites. The Torture Museum is much larger than anticipated, has a great assortment and degree of displays, artifacts and descriptions, and even allows for a few interactive opportunities to truly grasp the brutality of the devices. If you have an hour, that will give you ample time to absorb the museums several rooms. You know you want to do it...we did!!
Thank you for the amazing review! I love that you called the museum a gem in the heart of the city. I’m glad you enjoyed walking through the assortment of torture devices in the museum. Please visit us again.

    Well worth it
What a “fun” museum…if you’re into the darker side of life. But truly it’s really, really well laid out with every kind of torture device ever used. Which is disturbing to see all the creative ways people have come up with for punishing others. Lots of interactive exhibits ti turn, lift or open. And signs which ones not to sit on, like the spiky chair or pendulum table. Lol And their ghost hunting app was a hoot. Fun way to look for ghosts and learn history when you find them.
Thank you for the fun review! I like that you thought the museum was well laid out and had all the torture devices you can think of. Love that you enjoyed hunting our ghosts too. Visit us again sometime.

    First time !
I spontaneously bought tickets for me and my friend and we enjoyed it so much, even went around twice just incase we missed anything. We were so shocked to find out some of these tortures are still used today in other countries! I highly recommend it.
Thanks for the great review! I like that you and your friend enjoyed the museum so much that you went around twice. Love that you highly recommend a visit too.

    A Great Time!
I had a great time. It's more of a Ripley's style attraction than your typical museum, but the information and displays were very interesting and interactive. Nice if you want a calm time alone or enjoy with a friend. Even without listening to the audio, I liked taking my time reading each placard at my own pace. Can be done in about an hour. A little dark in some places. I don't remember seeing an elevator for accessibility. Souvenirs were kind of lacking.
Thank you for the great review! I’m glad you enjoyed walking at your own pace to explore the museum. I like that you found the displays interesting too. FYI the elevator is located through the door that leads to the restrooms.

    A Fantastic Museum!!
My sweet husband and I had a wonderful time at the museum! We found all ten ghosts on the app, we enjoyed listening to all the audio tales, and the overall museum was awesome! The staff was absolutely wonderful. We ended up leaving to sit down and get a drink and were able to finish our tour about an hour later. Search for a coupon code for an additional discount, we found one for 15% off the already discounted price. The only thing missing for us was a magnet to add to our travel magnet board. I highly recommend checking this museum out!
Thank you for the fantastic review! I’m glad you and your husband enjoyed walking through the museum with the audioguide and hunting our ghosts. I love that you highly recommend visiting the museum too. Please come see us again sometime.

More interactive than I thought it would be! A little too dark to see in some areas but not too bad and fine if you have a flashlight. Custom t-shirts and hoodies for sale!

Really cool experience! First time in Chicago, it started raining really hard. Wanted to find a place to kill some time at, and after a quick Google search, this place came up! So glad it did. Very well done; exhibits were curated professionally, the audio guide added drama to the scenes before you, and the entire exhibit made me appreciate not being a criminal. Would definitely recommend a visit, and not just during a rainy day!!!

So creepy. So fun. It's definitely worth the visit. You get to touch the exhibits, so that's an added bonus. Bring your children and tell them that this is where they live now.

This a fine enough place to visit if you have kids under 15 years of age, but otherwise it comes off as a pretty average tourist trap, if a very thoroughly decorated one; you won't see more skulls in one place outside the ossuary at Douaumont, Verdun. (I think the person at the cash register happened to be nursing a real whopper of a hangover when we were there, and might have been a pretty good exhibit right off.) Some cool stuff for sale in the gift shop.
