This is a beautiful fountain in city center. Not very far from Millennium Park. Must visit for tourists. I guess it opens at 6 PM.

Make sure you visit this fountain twice: once during the day, and then at night after 9 for the light show. It's a beautiful fountain and you need to see it from all sides (although the wind will make the downwind side a challenge!).

I walked here from Millennium park and was worth it. I highly recommend it in good weather. It's free of charge.

My husband started a tradition of watching the sunrise on the summer solstice. This year we just happened to be in Chicago, staying close to this fountain. Watching the sun rise over Lake Michigan, next to the fountain made a perfect memory.

This is a very nice centerpiece to the park and people are genuinely drawn to it, my first visit to the park and it was a relaxing place to hang out awhile and take a few pictures and enjoy the view of the lake

One of Chicago's most artistic views. The water jets complement the statuary. A grand addition to the cityscape.

This is a very large fountain, but it's in such a large open space with nothing else around it that the scale is lost. If you're walking along the water you should stop by but don't go out of your way to see it.

I cannot visit Chicago without stopping here at least once for a photo. It's a gorgeous spot but anyone who ever watched Married With Children will know it as the fountain in the opening credits. Even if you don't know that this is one of...More

Who looks that beautiful at ninety years old? It's a gorgeous, memorable landmark and the irresistible tourist attraction in Grant Park that is enormous, and that gives quite a generous space for the fountain like this and for all of us who visit the park,...More

A beautiful place to rest while visiting Chicago, usually as tourists we walk all day long, and is nice to have a beautiful place to sit for a while and just contemplate.

Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a
good starting point to sample the city's energy and
flavor. This central business district boasts
Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier
shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep
your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many
photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of

Limited metered street parking on Columbus. There is the Grant Park underground garage at Monroe and Columbus.
Will the fountain be working in the month of October?

The fountain operates mid-April through mid-October from 8 am-11 pm, so it kind of depends on when, in October, you will be visiting.
It is too cold outside for the fountain to be on. But there is still lots to do in March in Chicago.

If you travel in the warmer months, it's a must do on the list though not sure if it will be open in cooler climate as I visited in early Sept!
