This bar has character. It feels like stepping inside the pages of a national geographic... with a beer in hand. It's covered wall to wall with maps and flags, and features bookshelves stacked with national Geographic's throughout. Usually it's packed! Hard to find a seat after 9pm. Before that it's pretty relaxed. I most enjoy coming here early for some... More

This is a great bar in the Bucktown area. It was really busy but we were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. Really wide selection of quality draft beer available, shame we couldn’t have stayed longer. I wish this was my local!

This place is always ALWAYS packed. So look at beer me u ahead of time and have your order ready. There is nothing worse than a busy bartender taking someone order as they go "ummmm ummm" it's not a place to waste time with slow decisions. We have hundreds of beer to try here. It is glorious. Be ready with... More

Okay, so I may be a bit biased given that I majored in Geography but I am OBSESSED with this bar. I could not stop gazing at all of the maps and flags surrounding the establishment. I am not much of an expert when it comes to beer, but I do know that I had some amazing Austrian beer of... More

Great beer, great atmosphere, excellent selection. Limited food but hops and barley should see you through. Wish I lived in the neighborhood!

The description of this place kind of made it sound like a traveler's hangout but it was more of a local bar with a traveler's theme. Still it was a nice place, with lots of local beers, and a good theme.

This was my first visit to the Map Room. Wow, I'm a wine guy but this is a beer lovers paradise. If you can't find a beer you like here get a life! The choices here will overwhelm you, there are at least 20 beers on tap and well over 50 bottle beers available. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and... More

This is a beer lover's paradise! They have an incredible beer menu with many beers on tap and even more in their bottle selection. We came here on a cold Monday evening and were welcomed by the friendly bartender who was very friendly and attentive. The special for the night was $1 off Belgians, although I didn't order any of... This is a beer aficionado's must. Great selection, cool staff, and the vibe is chill. There are a few quirks, namely that it's cash only and does not serve food. It's an easy walk from the Blue Line, California stop, which makes it very convenient and safe (afterwards!).
