Just a good copy of Abraham Lincoln in the park, nothing special. There are few branches, so you can seat there and watch

The Lincoln Monument in Lincoln Park is a sweet, serene spot. I read that initially they intended to have several presidential monuments there but funding dried up so I thought it did look sparse.

This is not exactly the same as the Lincoln Monument in Washington, D.C., but in this statue, President Lincoln is standing by a chair. I think the statue is a fitting reminder who the park and the zoo is named after. Part of a huge park along Chicago's Lakefront, there is much to do in the immediate area. A lot... More

My family has visited here a couple times over the past few years. The Lincoln Monument is definitely a must see when in Washington, DC. Seeing Lincoln sitting there makes you think back to the life he lived and the weight of things that were on him at the time of his presidency. The view from the steps looking toward... More

The monument is of Lincoln standing by a chair. It is set on a raised semi-circle area with a bench in the raised area. Since the statue is in Lincoln Park it is quite appropriate that the statue stands tall - it is also lit at night. Note - most of the pictures that are posted for this monument are... More

Nicely landscaped. A touch of the monumental essence of Washington DC. Sit down and relax. Walk north to the Farm in the Zoo, or a little further to Lincoln Park Zoo (the largest free zoo in the United States). Or try out of Chicago History Museum, just to the west of the statue.
