90 minute tour of Chicago's architectural history via waterways = relaxing and educational! My husband and I really enjoyed learning about Chicago and its beautiful buildings via the Mercury cruiseline. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, funny and friendly. The boat has two levels therefore you are also able to get drinks from the bar while learning about Chicago's amazing... More

Really enjoyed this cruise. It was nice to see the city from the water and to get out onto the lake also. Kids were a bit bored but the adults enjoyed it!

This is an attraction you can't miss in your Chicago visit. 90 exciting minutes where you comfortabily see the most relevant buildings and the incredible skyline from the lake. Our guide gave us a complete, clear and fun explanation with a lot of anecdotes. We toke the last tour (started at 6:15) and we could see the sunset from the... More

My wife and I recently bought tickets through Viator for this tour. We did learn about Chicago architecture but our guide was not at all engaging and made the tour less than exciting. Part of any tour is to be informed and entertained as you gain knowledge about the area you are visiting. This unfortunately did not occur. We have... More

We went on 2 cruises. The first one was a evening cruise starting at 6pm so we got to see lots of the city from light to dark, with sundown on the lake. The second cruise was the fireworks one and it was amazing to see them from the boat with the 3D glasses. I took so many pictures at... More

I jumped on-board a Mercury river tour as a last minute decision, as it was the next one leaving. At $35 I believe it is one of the cheaper tour operators, and that may have resulted in a lower quality tour. All the boats seem pretty similar to look at it, but our guide was a young student who filled... More

Almost booked the architectural tour but I wanted to see the river and see the city from the lake so went with Mercury. was not disappointed. The guide was very knowledgeable about the buildings lining the river, the river's history in Chicago, and history in general. The cruise went through the harbor lock to get out on the lake, even... Wife and I took an afternoon cruise on a beautiful afternoon. Staff was friendly, professional and fun. Made for a great day and not too expensive for the 90 minutes of endless great scenery! Really enjoyed it - would definitely do again.

Had a spectacular night tour of the river and the lake. The guide gave us information about the buildings we passed in the river. Since many also had connections to movies, our teen boys were just as interested as we were. I can't compare this boat company vs. others but I highly recommend. Only thing to note: no bathrooms down... More

Mercury River and Lake Cruise sights were quite nice. The tour guide thought he was a comedian and clever actor; I did not enjoy his immature sense of humor. Price was $35 for a 90-minute river and lake cruise and that is reasonable. When the tour guide was not talking they played god-awful rock music, which made it difficult to... More
