Actually saw there graves. This is really a cool place, design considerations are crazy. They really knew how to die back in the day. Most would overlook Graceland but they would be wrong. Cemeteries at one time were put on the outskirts of cities, so...More

If you'd like to see where Enrique Fermi is buried, it is a must to drive thru. I bet you'd be very surprised... Map is available in the office and sometimes guide as well.

Anyone interested in the history of Chicago should visit. Many of the movers and shakers of the city are buried here, some in impressive strucures. Some of the famous are Potter Palmer, George Pullman and Ernie Bankss. There are free docent tours.

This tour of Graceland Cemetery could not have been better. So much of Chicago history is contained within its walls. From the Marshall Field family to George Pullman to Daniel Burnham and scores of others. I have been studying Chicago history for many years, and...More

I was worried that visiting here would be macabre or existentially troubling, but it was really peaceful and I had a great time exploring the cemetery. I visited during the winter, which was nice, but the wind really whips through the grounds so I'd aim...More
