Women & Children First has a nationwide reputation among feminists, book-lovers, and the LGBT community for selecting titles that represent the diverse voices in society more generally, and have the ability to inform, challenge, and delight readers. The bookstore also hosts an amazing variety of programs and author events, leveraging the significant local literary community in Chicago.

W&CF is a neighborhood institution. A small independent bookstore with a carefully curated inventory. Great selection of general-interest titles as well as a strong focus on what else, women and children. While I use on-line outlets like Amazon, there is still nothing like visiting and supporting a real place like W&CF.
