We were just passing through St. Louis. Googled best place to photograph the arch. That's how we discovered this park. It was perfect. Right across the river and just breathtaking.

You will question going here on your way but it is worth it. Very large area with elevated place to photo the arch. Large grassy areas with benches as well.

Surprisingly less crowded... but good view of arch and saint louis downtown. Security personal was kind to help and provide details.
