It is huge. Definitely hard to miss. And as far as roadside attractions go, in my opinion, it is iconic. Personally, I don't feel it is worth stopping unless your journey also requires you to get off the highway. However, for those that would be...More

It is impressive, but personally I think money could have been better spent for children activities , playgrounds, roller board activity's , no offense meant , just seems more could have been done for the children in Effingham area

Amazing. Wish you could go up in the Cross, but still pretty amazing. Nice just to walk around to listen to the Ten Commandments and be at one with God. Pretty view at night against the starry sky.

We have driven by this many times over the years while driving on I-57 and finally stopped to see it up close. The volunteers at the visitor center were kind and and helpful. We enjoyed the 10 Commandment display and memory bricks. We'll stop again sometime.

I have stopped here with groups. So impressive. One can see this cross for miles. It does make one think while traveling past even if you don't take time to stop.

This cross, at the cost of megamillions, was built for 2 reasons - pride and arrogance, simply to be a couple of feet higher than a cross in Texas, from which they actually used the architect's plans. The stated reason, that ...''people driving by would...More

Nice stop along your way. It can be seen from distance. Free, which is always a bonus. Information is available in the building on site. It's a short walk to the cross from the parking lot.
