Awesome little find, off the beaten track but well worth it on a nice hot sunny day. Would recommend to family’s and bikers.

A brilliant place to take family & friends. We had lunch on the benches provided & went to the park . There was bike paths & woods to through . Also this place is brilliant for taking dogs on walks. I highly recommended 👍🏼

The Golden Tower of Leaves is interesting, at the top of an old slag heap, but not particularly noticeable or publicised, even though the council apparently spent £100k having it erected. Great views from up there on the hill.

Nice place to go for a walk you walk around the hill to get to the top in a spiral and is a pretty easy walk. The views from the top are great.

Good exercise getting up there via the specially prepared path. Beautiful panoramic views so much so i eent up there to watch the sunrise on the summer solstice. When its sunny it lights up the gold surface on the column. Parking available near by for small charge and a cafe. Near to Alvcote priory ruins, pub and marina. 20 minute walk from Polesworth

I would recommend a visit here as the views are fantastic, the wild toadstools grow in abundance and there's lots of points of interest close.

Having finally found the relevant parking we followed the track towards the monument. Trains and the motorway noise accompanied us.
The obelisk is on top of an old spoil heap with good views in all directions.
Follow the gently sloping path on the left of the hill unless you wish to attempt the steep climb.

I remember when this was built and didn't really understand what it was all about but now I find I am attracted to it, whether walking in the nature reserve with it towering on the hill or passing on the motorway nearby it is a landmark and I find myself drawn to look for it and see how the light is reflecting from the golden colour when I pass

Having lived in the village for many years this monument certainly caused a stir when it was built.
Initially I hated it and thought t was a waste of money however time has made it grow on me and I find it is now a daily part of my walks. It always seems to look good in photos and is a great focal point in quite a bland area. There are a couple of benches at the top where you can sit and watch the world go by.
