We were here as first stop of the 2 1/2hr trolley tour. Can walk here easily as is in town. Very interesting "old" home. Our guide was very nice, informative and seemed to enjoy his job. Great historical site.

The bottom floor was the store and still packed with lots of interesting items explained by the tour guide. Then you go up the narrow stairs to see the living quarters, which definitely make you appreciate modern life! This isn't a long tour, but is...More

This old house, originally a trading post and home, has been well restored from a deplorable state. The owners did add a room to the upstairs living quarters and added a stairway, but it still has a great, authentic feeling. The docent was very personable...More

This shows a nice slice of history about how the area was first settled and that this was a VERY well off family in the day. Interesting how they lived on top of the store and it is built into the hill so the kitchen...More

The tour was really good - very informative. Small house, but it wasn't built to accommodate large tours :-) We did have to come back since a Trolley Tour had bought out the 2pm tour, but there was plenty to do while we waited. Overall,...More

We enjoyed the Dowling House - wish that there would have been more room to move around but understand that the building was not meant as an attraction. Would visit again - some good lessons to be learned from the visit.

I can't say whether I love or hate the place because it's never open!! Even "in season" during posted hours, they aren't open. Clearly the webpage was out of date. :(

Very good guided tour, the guide did an awesome job! Wish the prices were listed for the tour, I thought it was a little pricey, but was definitely worth the stop.

Belvedere Mansion is also included. It's a beautiful old place. The man who owned it was quite a collector so the house is full of interesting things.
