A replica of the 1800s Postville Courthouse where Abraham Lincoln once practiced law while in the 8th Judicial Court Circuit. This beautiful two story attraction offers a nice guided tour of the building and the grounds which also offers a medicinal garden of that era as well.

We were only able to walk around the outside of the courthouse. It was closed due to a lack of volunteers to open it that day. Hope to visit it someday when it is open!

This gives a lot of info about circuit riders both attorneys and judges. The difficulties of their travel and how they became attorneys are interesting and so is an early use of the nickname Honest Abe. This is restored but its history and current location...More

This is one of those place that is out of the way for "Looking for Lincoln" Its also a grand historical place in general and is worth a quick stop even just to walk around the area.

The original building was moved to Michigan by Henry Ford. There is a short video and a couple of rooms with period pieces. It is important to the history of this city, so I would recommend a visit. They have a sign for donations of...More

My wife and I recently visited this replica courthouse and enjoyed walking around it and taking pictures. It was closed at the time so we could not enter, but it was still enjoyable to be in a place Abraham Lincoln tried a case.

Lincoln is a great old town. The original courthouse is in the Greenfield Village in Michigan. Lincoln College has a fantastic museum, downtown is the building where people conspired to steal Lincoln's body, out by the Lincoln Lakes is the train overpass where Coon Dog...More

Sadly, our society has a lack of funding for paid jobs to promote tourism and lack of volunteers to keep our heads above water. It looked like an interesting site, and my plan to visit was completely thwarted.
