The museum for the fort was well thought out and arranged. It includes many many artifacts from the excavations and provides a good overview of the area and the fort's history. The Fort itself was disappointing to me because the buildings are all closed. The...More

Neat historical place. The vision center is decent as most state parks go. I would like to see more done with the actual Fort site though. But with Illinois' budget and corrupt government understand why it's not top notch!

Wonderful park. Spacious rv spots. terrific bike trail thru park and connecting metropolis and brookport. Sits on the river. Beautiful. Only 2 showers each for men and women.

I did NOT visit Ft. Massac State Park on this visit to the area; however, as I have been there on previous trips to Southern Illinois, I can truthfully say that it is a great re-creation of the Fort, along with many historical displays. Truly...More

The State of Illinois needs to fund the grants needed to update some of the fort facilities. But it's a great place to learn the history of the fort and about George Rogers Clark. It has river front access and lots of picnic areas.

The fort is completely boarded up and locked up so you can't even see inside. Nice river view of the Ohio. Visitors center was standard with bathrooms avaliable near there. Located across from sonic so good place for a picnicking.

Fort Massac Encampment need I say more. Awesome weekend in October. The food is good, the vendors are nice and have neat/period things, and the re-enactment is great for kids.

Pre-revolutionarily war fort kind-a. It's a re-build 100 foot to the east of original site. Great re-build, to see how things were before America was America!!!! Hope IL can continue this re-building.
