More
The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio served as Wright's private residence and workplace from 1889 to 1909--the first 20 years of his career. Here Wright developed a new American architecture: the Prairie style. Trained interpreters offer insights into Wright's family life and architectural career. Enjoy guided tours of the museum complex and neighboring historic district seven days a week. Tour details are available on the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust website.

We took the guided tour which was excellent. There were only six of us, so we could ask questions. The home and studio have very interesting architectural details.

If you enjoy Wright's architecture (150 anniversary), you'll enjoy visiting the home and studio he designed. The volunteer tour guide was great. And, of course the neighborhood is quite magnificent as well. A real treat! Doesn't take that long, under an hour.

The 'el' Blue Line goes to Oak Park from downtown, getting off at Harlem Avenue. but the studio is about a mile or so from the subway station. Either a healthy walk or a short uber ride away.
