The Peoria Zoo is home to over 100 species of animals from around the world. From giraffes and rhinoceros to spider monkeys and sea lions, the Zoo is the wildest family place in town.

The Peoria Zoo is open year round. Our Education Department offers programs for ages 2 and up. These include Home School classes, Zoo Tots, Jungle Jamboree, summer Zoo Camp and Zoo Teens volunteer program. During summer months we offer Giraffe Feeding in Africa and Budgie Feeding in the Aussie Walk About. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, scheduled Keeper Chats take place every day. Our two biggest events are the Easter Egg Hunt and Howl-Zoo-Ween.

We offer a variety of birthday parties and Zoo Snoozes. Our Zambezi River Lodge is available for corporate events, wedding receptions, and special celebrations.

Perfect size zoo! Excellent for a day trip. Exhibits are fun. I love that you can get all of the exhibits in comfortably. I've visited zoo's that are too small, and some that are too big, but this one is just right. They also offer some very good evening strolls for adults only, which I think is pretty cool! But... This Zoo surprised us with the quality of animals and design of the African life. They have the largest giraffes, zebras and rhinos we have ever seen at a zoo having visited 6 others in the past 10 years. We went into the large indoor eating area to relax and found restrooms cleaner than in most restaurants. There's plenty of excitement... More

We visit this zoo often. My four year old and infant love this zoo! My 10 year old on the other hand, needs more animals and more excitement. The zoo is clean and nicely laid out. There is some walking but not much. The monkey house is great! You can get up close and personal with them! The Giraffe/Rhino area... More

Great variety of animals and birds. Well kept animal areas and ongoing revamping of animal areas to make them more like natural habitats. Very family friendly.

Nice people and kid family zoo. Big enough to spend the day, small enough to not wipe you out. Make sure you have the kds feed the giraffes.

Great selection of animals. Very fun to have young lions & tigers & baby giraffe- kids really love that! Lunch for kids is great - little toy, food, drink & cookie.

Peoria Zoo has been around as long as I remember and has always been a great place to spend a few hours. The addition of the Africa exhibit was especially well-done!

We were looking for things to do in Peoria on a winter afternoon. We decided to check this place out. It turned out that it was donation day, and we got in for only the cost of a donation. All the animals weren't out but the ones that were seemed happy and looked amazing. I want to come here during... More
