If driving the circle road along the southeast coast, a must stop. The beach is just to the west of the bridge (lots of construction). Parking is free. The beach is beautifully black with ice scattered along the edges. The water is pretty intense and...More

great blue chunks of glarier icebergs float around, you could be at the north pole! there are plenty of small clear chunks of ice scattered everywhere on the beach, hence the name diamond beach, well worth a visit and also to the nearby lagoon to...More

Located just west of the bridge near the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, it is a great place. Even on a cloudy afternoon the little pieces of icebergs collect on the black sand beach and shimmer unbelievably! Real caution must be observed though as the “sneaker waves”...More

If going to Jökulsárlón you must make a stop by Diamond beach. It is right across the road, so there isn't a reason not to stop. You won't spend much time here because the wind is really strong, but it is worth the stop. When...More

We visited this after going on a Zodiac boat tour of the lagoon. We found the diamond beach to be a bit of a waste - there wasn't much ice on the beach and the best part was seeing the seals a bit more closely...More

This is a place like no other I have ever seen or heard of. Watching the massive Glaciers calved icebergs float slowly out to sea. Ice chunks littler the beach and reflect the sun with sparkling wonder. Don't miss this!

We visited this beach after a random tip from someone who was on our Iceberg tour - we had no idea it was near. It was a real highlight and something we will never forget. We were planning to visit the black sand beach near...More

The glacier is wonderful to see, and tragic when you learn the entire lagoon is only about 80 years old; so the remnants of the glacier (having broken off to be icebergs only days ago) are now washed up on the black sand beach to...More

This is just beautiful beach and better than Reynisfara because it is also a black sand beach. The juxtaposition of the giant broken glaciers both in the lagoon and on the beach is amazing. It was freezing cold and raining when we visited and it...More

Honestly, both are nice. And you can visit both, as they are super close to each other. I spent about 30 minutes on the beach and got so many amazing photos. It is just beautiful.
