Krannert is home for the performing arts at the University of Illinois. The many theaters inside are also used for other events, such as conferences. There are so many great shows to see here. Classical music, jazz, comedy, theater.. all fun!

With a daughter in the U of I Dance program, we've seen many performances at Krannert. It is a really nice venue and have enjoyed every event attended. The lobby bar even serves top shelf drinks!

I visited here for the first time to experience Mahler's 2nd symphony, not sure what to expect. It was a great time! The architecture of the place is very interesting, the orchestra performed flawlessly, and the chorus was a treat! I am looking forward to going back!

Krannert Center was built in the late 60s, but you'd never know it. Occupying an entire city block, it contains five theaters, a gift shop, and a small cafe. It has been home to MANY great performances, including Perelman, Stern, Bell, Galway, Ax, many opera divas, and orchestras from Chicago, London, Moscow, Leipzig etc etc. I'm told that one year... It is amazing how various types of international performing art can merge in this small university town, from Russian ballet to Chinese acrobatics, and to pop music concerts. We students can enjoy high-level drama and shows without traveling to large cities, and also at a very low cost.

Krannert is a beautiful venue. My first time in this place was for my son's high school graduation. I have been here 8 years but never attended anything else. One bad thing was the bathroom locations. You really have to hunt for them. I kept following the crowds and the signs but couldn't find the bathrooms. You think you are... More

We live blocks from Krannert and visit frequently. We escape to the Intermezzo Cafe to work quietly, purchase gifts from the Promenade, one of the best little gift shops anywhere (Dale is an excellent buyer, Krannert supporter and enthusiastic presence!), meet friends to enjoy free music and wine tasting at the "Uncorked" events, and attend excellent fine arts student plays... Every other year Krannert is the venue for the Ellnora guitar festival. It is a weekend long series of concerts from an eclectic mix of artists. There are multiple theaters within Krannert and each has excellent acoustics and comfortable seating. Visually, the interior is pretty unremarkable.

If you are in Champaign-Urbana and have a chance to attend a concert in the Follinger Great Hall of Krannert Center, by all means do so. Owing to the fact that it is among the top five concert halls acoustically in the country, it will send chills down your spine. The world's top classical and jazz artists visit here every... More

Really wonderful hall experience - arrive a little early for a pre-program drink, and enjoy the performance. They symphony in particular has interesting programming!
