Being the daughter of a librarian I can say that this library is a local gem. The peope working here are very friendly and helpful and I can always find many selections available. Their media section is wide ranging also. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the children's section is wonderful.

Even has a coffee house operational inside that serves good drinks. They have nearly everything or can get it for you. Very understanding in general and concerned about good services.

I visit this library with my son on a fairly regular basis. The entire bottom level of the building is the children's library, and it is extensive with books, music and videos. There are interactive play areas for the kids and a few cute book nooks for reading. If you are planning to go check the library calendar for current... More

This is a pretty historic Library. Founded in 1874, the building dates from 1918. It is actually called the "Urbana Free Library." The day we visited the Library there were tons of people there; a really good thing. What impressed me the most was the first floor "display" for DVDs and CDs that were available to be checked out. I've... More

This is my favorite place in town. The staff is totally cheerful and helpful, the collection is linked to many other libraries, DVDs are no extra charge, the on-line access and wait-list is great, and my daughter can even wait-list books and CDs she thinks I should look over

I must admit that I still read books. For it's size it has a very good selection. If you cannot find the one you want, they will either order a copy for you or put you on the wait list. Their collection of CDs and movies is very impressive as well. Oh yes, they also offer Internet access. As Roger... More
