The theatre provides a nice environment for concerts and is overlooked by an older group of stewards. The rules are more strict to ensure a more relaxed environment considering the overall historic setting.

Excellent seats with no blocked views. Acoustics were good for the concert we saw. Ladies room is very nice. Bar service was very slow and not worth the wait.

Thank you for the review and feedback. Depending on the show, sometimes the bar access can become congested on the first floor. However, we often have lounges open on the second and third floors that are used much less. Don't hesitate to ask an usher which lounges are open that evening and usually they can point you to much faster... More

Really excellent place, so beautiful with tons of women's toilets! We liked it very much, even the Police outside were cheerful and friendly.

We attended the wonderful Peter Cetera concert at the completely restored Theatre on Saturday November 12th, 2016. The interior is stunning to behold and it is a testament to the community to have saved and restored this place. Waukegan is the home of a our Jack Benny and I understand he played in this very venue! The are 2300 plus... More

First time to this theater. We saw the B52s on a Friday night. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Beautiful theater and easy to get around. Not a bad seat in the house. Started getting their emails. Will go back to see more shows.

Been to the Genesee Theatre twice in three weeks to see Survivor, John Waite, Flock of Seagulls, and now Peter Cetera. This is a beautiful place to see a show. Plenty of parking in the downtown area. Every staff member we came across were very friendly. Honestly, there's not a bad seat in the house. First time, we sat about... More

Thank you for detailing your experience with us. While we do everything possible to create a great experience inside, you point out one of the great aspects of many suburban theaters which is the convenience and ease of getting to and from the venue and the parking. Thanks for pointing that out to all those we are still waiting to... More

This is a beautifully restored theatre with great sound and a huge stage. Sight lines are great. You can often find free places to park nearby, or else plenty of places close by to park for $10. So much easier and more pleasant to see a show here than schlepping into the city and dealing with the cost and the... More

Went to Genessee Theater for the first time to see Goo Goo Dolls and had a great time. They had valet parking for $15 which was great. The inside of the theater is beautiful and they have several bar areas on all levels with seating. The bar tenders were really nice. The bathrooms were big and very clean, no long... More

We went to the Genesee Theatre to see Theresa Caputo, the Long Island Medium. The theater was the perfect setting for large crowds, but with an intimate feel. She was able to move about the theater freely to talk to people, even if they weren't seated at the aisle. The theater is decorated with ornate and old fashioned beauty and... More

We visited the Genesee Theatre to see a rock concert, John Waite, Survivor and A Flock of Seagulls. The theatre is absolutely beautiful on the inside! Old time charm, gorgeous chandeliers, the staff is friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to get seats in the second row of orchestra pit, right in front of the stage...so of course our... More
