Beautiful gardens surround this delicately fabricated structure right on the lake in Willamette. The Baha'i faith is well-documented in the temple and is a universal sort of religion which most could relate to. The temple is a startling and lovely vista as you travel up Sheridan Road just north of Evanston.

I spent the day in Wilmette and found the Baha'i temple worth exploring. It has beautiful grounds surrounding the temple and they also have a welcome center to answer all your questions and information on the building of the temple.

The Bahai Temple is the a virtual duplicate of the facility located in Haifa , Israel. The Wilmette site was purportedly chosen, in part because it was close to being diametrically opposite the Haifa site. Construction took 20+ years, and was well worth the wait. It is truly an architectural gem, majestic and austere at the same time. I strongly... More

This House of Worship of is an example of beautiful architecture that enhances the peaceful worship space. The welcome centre with library and displays make use of the latest technology. All the spaces are clean and people are friendly and responsive to questions. The grounds are well kept and are part of the wholistic worship experience.

We visited here one weekend when visiting out daughter at Northwestern University. It is a truly lovely place with a wonderful message to the world. Walking the grounds is calming and soothing.

This building and the grounds are always maintained to perfection. The intricate detail on the inside and outside of this building will keep you captivated. There is a museum in the lower level of the temple that gives the complete history of the building process and timeframe. If you are a photographer you will want to arrive either before sunrise... I live on the north shore and always, always, always take out of town guests to walk around the Baha'i House of Worship. The grounds are spectacular in summer/fall. The inside is gorgeous. I always walk around and read and reread the words on the building inside. They are inspiring regardless of your faith. The visitor's center is relatively new... More

When driving up Sheridan Road into the Wilmette area, lo and behold, there is a magnificent structure on the left that takes my breath away. I've been convinced (since a small child), that this temple is a reflection of HEAVENLY peace. I remain reverentially in awe of the dominion beauty that surrounds this particular Baha'i House of Worship. Whenever I... More

BEautiful building. Especially on a blue sky day. But the visitor's center is pretty empty. very peaceful. The religion itself is not very well explained, except that it is open to all people and all are welcomed. It is the only Baha'i temple in North America. Free.
