The Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science is one of Southwestern Indiana's most respected cultural institutions. It is a general museum, maintaining a permanent collection of more than 30,000 objects, including fine art, decorative arts, historic documents and photographs, and anthropological and natural history artifacts.

Also on the museum's campus is the Evansville Museum Transportation Center, featuring Southern Indiana transportation artifacts from the late 19th through the mid-20th centuries.

Our 40-foot dome features stadium style seating, a 10,000-watt digital surround sound system and imagery resulting in an immersive experience more like flying than watching a movie.

Coming to Evansville from NJ we had little or no knowledge of this neat little city. We went on the recommendation of our Indiana daughter who told us to make this a day trip. We are so glad that we did. The museum was a really good way to get some insight into the history of what we were seeing.... More

I was born and raised in Evansville so obviously the museum now is quite different from when I was young. However, I think the renovations have restored it to its former glory. The museum looks very nice, has an interactive science space again, and still retained the wonderful art gallery and museum space from the old days. It also now... More

We enjoyed the entire museum and rail road museum next door as well. But the history section is top-notch. We got our heads stuck in there reading and learning for way too long!

The new dome in which you can go in and view the constellations is far better now that they have updated it. I love the new outside more contemporary look the building has right now. It is also located next to a few other great museums and other places to go to in Evansville. Located right downtown, its a good... More

This excellent smaller museum can be comfortably viewed in a few hours. As it name implies, it contains a diverse mix of exhibits. Some of the highlights for me: 1) The Transportation Center with a 1908 steam switch engine, Tennessee Club Car, and red caboose. 2) A few Abraham Lincoln artifacts including a corner cupboard made by his father and... I was VERY impressed with the collections here for Evansville being such a small city. They have an amazing Rembrandt collection. Very neat facility.

I would recommend the current showings at the Museum. I saw The Flight of the Butterflies at the Koch Emersive Theater and it was wonderful. The Slaves and Slaveholder display is interesting and moving. This museum is first class.

Went there with my two little ones ages 4 and 7, they really enjoyed the kids section of the museum. Plenty to do for a smaller place like this. The admission price also includes the train museum next door which is pretty fun too.
