My wife is a big reader. So I added this stop into our trip. Old book stores have their appeal. Gotta love the filing systems, stacks of books and cats to keep the mice to a minimun. If you go, allow for enough time to visit all the floor levels.

We visited prior to moving to Ft. Wayne and just visited again today with out 9 mo (she was in the baby carrier). It's still left us in awe just as it did 2 years ago. It is floor-to-ceiling books throughout. As others have reviewed, it appears to be from a movie. They have a bit of everything - truly.... More

If you want used or rare books Hyde Brothers is the only place to look in Fort Wayne. The huge, two story shop on Wells is a book lovers haven. Books climb the walls over ten feet, and there is almost nothing you can't find, especial those hard to find gems including special and rare. If you are only visiting,... More

Hyde Brothers has EVERYTHING! And what precious little they don't have, they can get. The good folks here can get books here I myself have been trying to find for years! They actually found and special ordered an old book my mom had been trying to find for forty years! This place is nirvana for the book lover-and be sure... More

I AM AN AVID SUPPORTER OF REAL BOOKS...and this is one of the VERY FEW BOOKSTORES LEFT. Keep in mind that the space is tight, the books are stacked/stored from floor to ceiling and there are stairs involved to see EVERYTHING that they have to offer...however it is well worth it. You will find so many hidden gems there...but you... More

This is the place to go if you love books! There are so many used books and Harris tax floor to ceiling throughout the entire store and stores basement. Its nice how they have them divided up in sections that are clear to see. That saves a lot of time if you are looking for a particular genre of book.... More

Ceiling to floor even the basement full of books!!! Awesome place! Gentleman working was great. He knew right where to find the books we were looking for. We brought our three kids ages 11, 9, 8. They loved it! We will be visiting again for sure!

What a surprise...a used book store that is a destination in itself. Get lost in the stacks of books (all nicely arranged so what you're looking for will be easy to locate - of course the staff there knows where everything is) and have some fun just nosing around. AND the bargain sale items at the front of the shop... More

This bookstore has all the elements to make it a new favorite. There are towering shelves with sliding ladders, an entire second level of books in the basement, and an excellent selection with gems every where you look. I visited for the second time, convinced I needed to spend more time wandering the shelves. My only complaint was the there... More

This place in Fort Wayne is wall-to-wall-to-ceiling books. It is almost overwhelming going into Hyde Brothers because you feel like you are missing out on so many books just by walking down the aisles. You can sometimes find a deal here but usually priced about right.
