It is a beautiful Capitol Building with lots of history. You just walk in and stroll around someone is always asking if they can be of help.

There seems to be a lot statues in downtown Indianapolis. Pictures of famous people with a lot of detail. There is one that looks like the Star Gate. People actually set on lawn and have lunch under a shade tree. There is a lot to...More

Very nice, loooooved the architecture here. It is way better than ours is. So much to look at having four floors to explore through. Definetly would recommend bringing the kids.

We were surprised by how many people were visiting the capitol with us- usually a private tour! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and could answer all questions we had.

You need not have business here to stop in and look at a building that cost $2 million to build in the 19th century. Marble everywhere along with statues and busts. The high point (no pun intended) is the dome which you can view from...More

Visited on a Saturday and had a great time. The capitol inside is lovely. Taking pictures of the outside were hindered by construction vehicles there to perform work and lines of Port-O-Potties for a morning marathon run. Parking was plentiful clost to the capitol.

The grandeur of this place is incredible. The stain glass windows, statues and historical data is worth a trip to this amazing place. They offer tours as well

I love to visit state capitals and see how individual states dress up where they make their laws. Indiana is very traditional, not showy but a fine place to see and be seen. Easy to navigate and lots of history.

20 minute tour. I learned more about Indiana browsing around exhibits on the floor before the tour left. I was shown the Supreme Court room, the Governor's office waiting room through its door, and both chambers of their legislature. Most capitols have interesting displays relating...More

Group tours need to be arranged in advance, depending upon the size of the group--of course. I suggest you go to the Statehouse website and find contact info about tours. When we visited in March, we "tagged along" with a... More
