If you are looking for a 1-2h escape from downtown Indy, this is a good pick. There are several well marked trails and you can see some nice birds.

This is someplace we could always take our children and guarantee to enjoy. It affordable and has lots to pick. We usually take a picnic, play volleyball, hike, rent paddle boats and sail boats. Easy access off the interstate, very clean.

You MUST visit at duck, the woods come alive with wildlife. The deer are adorable. The Ornithology Center is an absolute must. The staff is very knowledgeable about local flora and fauna and the view is awesome.

I would go here every day if I had the luxury of not having a job! It has everything I could want in a nature haven- aside from a true beach or mountain-side, but I'll take what I can get! Hiking through the woods kept...More

Hiking paths open all year round, plus summer water activities. Safe, beautiful and inexpensive ($5/6 per car, depending on residency).

My husband and I traveled to Indianapolis for a robotic tournament. We were so happy to find a wonderful way to get some exercise. We rented bikes and a paddle boat on subsequent days and also hiked. We could have spent several more days exploring...More

It depends on the resident status and whether or not you’re bringing a boat. The most updated pricing is on the Indianapolis Parks website.
