The park is very nice with a great trail running along the university just outside of downtown, and only a short walk from downtown hotels. The park is along side the lovely Indianapolis zoo and gardens. I was a little nervous when the Indiana State Police car was parked to watch people hike, and bike, making me wonder if this... More

This is a nice view of the city along the river. I found it quite beautiful for a casual stroll, walk, or to exercise. This is a must see if you're exploring the city.

The canal is great for riding bikes and people watching. You can rent different types of bikes or a gondola.

Went here for almost a week in Sept and stayed at the campground. Our site was nice, not right on top of other campers, close to water fill station. The campground was almost empty during the week so it was kind of nice to have the whole place almost to ourselves. Kayaking/Paddleboats available for renting to ride on the lake.... More

A nice place to walk around near downtown Indianapolis when the weather is great. I wouldn't get in the river because it's rather dirty but just walking along it is enjoyable. You can rent bikes from downtown and cruise around. Plenty of things nearby to do, including museums and the zoo. You can park for a few bucks on Washington... More

I have been here multiple times for the summer concert series. Its great when the weather is nice and horrible if storms pop up. All in all I recommend coming here for concerts because there is no bad seat and they give you lawn chairs if you want them.

I saw the word Park and was thinking Central Park. There is a bit of an outside park, but the women at the welcome center explained that this park includes the surrounding museums. Budget tip: NCAA museum is $5.00! I was looking for more of an outside day. I walked over white river and thoroughly enjoyed the sculptures along the... More

White river runs through the center of Indianapolis and the state park is right near its downtown. Sunday may be the best day to visit as the offices are closed and you don't find yourself stuck in congested road and parking is easily available. Lot of activities to do in the park. You can visit museum, ride bikes or go... More

The park is nothing special, at least during winter days but, the worst thing ever, is that the parking meter at the surface parking, where you'd pay 5$ for 1 hour, doesn't give any change. Unfortunately it's not clearly mentioned on the meter so we finished to pay 20$ for 1 hour. I think it's a shame that the city... More
