A wonderful collection of American artwork. The only art museum that is in a high school!! Paintings from here go worldwide to other museums for shows. Now engaged in a fundraiser for many improvements. A very worthwhile trip!

We went to look at the Overbeck pottery room and discovered a beautiful small museum attache to the High School with a restored auditorium in the center of the museum. The attendant was very helpful in showing us around and explaining the fascinating history of this museum. This is small town American at its best!

Love the art museum and the employees are the best part. There is a variety of local works and work by renowned artists and the displays are kept fresh.

Richmond Art Museum is located adjoining the Richmond High School. The unique aspect of this facility is the collection of fine art which primarily includes Indiana artists and especially highlights works of local artists. Though other unique art collections are include and traveling collections often displayed the local museum is a teaching and learning facility that is open to the... More

I always bring our out of town visitors to this museum. It's a great place to see masterworks and new art. They have a smattering of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and various thematic shows. The building boasts a wonderful auditorium, which I hope they would use more often. It's a beautiful room. Of course, the space is limited as they have... More

We had read about this tiny "museum," which is in fact a small art gallery. We didn't have much time, and as it turned out, we didn't need much. There are only several rooms and corridors, but they are well worth the visit for those who appreciate late 19th century American Midwest art. The likes of William Merritt Chase and... More

The only reason I'm giving this a rating of "3" is because the size of the museum is quite small and a bit limited. However, it is a very nice place and the display/works are well done, interesting and do have the local flare that you sometimes do not get in a large city art museum. That being said, if... More

The local coffee shop/consignment shop staff directed us to this museum or we would have missed it. So glad they did. The building alone is wonderful to see and the paintings were excellent. They have some very fine oil paintings. The founding fathers of Richmond really had some foresight to collect this art at the turn of the century. The... More

The Richmond Art Museum is a true hidden gem in Richmond. Free admission. However, a donation is suggested. The museum is located adjacent to the high school which I thought was interesting. When I walked in I was impressed with the lighting along the ceiling. It grabbed my attention! There is a nice collection of 19th and 20th century art.... More
