This beautiful gem is nestled in the heart of Richmond and provides a quiet place to get away from it all. Quiet walks, the nature center or events like Witches in the Woods ensure there will be something fun for the whole family.

We have taken our 2 young sons to the arboretum several times & the grounds itself is a great place to educate & discover, however we took them tonight to their annual event Witches in the Woods and it's a complete waste of time and money! First they advertise on the radio as $10 a vehicle, we were charged $20.... More

The Hayes Arboretum wouldn't be worth driving across the country to see, but for us in Cincinnati, it was a pleasant day trip, about 70 miles each way. On October 15, 2016, the autumn leaves were just starting to turn, although the most remarkable things in the woods were a scattering of Giant Puffball Mushrooms.

This is an (almost) hidden gem in our city, and we are so lucky to have it. It's wonderful to witness our world how it looked before mankind started cutting all the trees down and taking over. There is a wonderful auto tour you can take, and also multiple hiking trails. They also hold special events throughout the year. The... More

There is several hiking trails and car trail to observe nature in the woods. The car trail does charge a small fee. Enjoy just setting and watching the birds.

Come here to see many native tree species you might not see other places. There is a building with children's discovery features and many trails to walk on.

I grew up going to the Arboretum. I had gardens there and took classes and spent many hours hiking. I was sorry to see the front part was now shopping, but I understand how expensive it is to keep a place like this going. I wish we would have had time to take a tour of the trails. Next time... We stumbled on this while killing time in Richmond. We walked the trails, didn't have time to go to the nature center. The grounds are beautiful; there was a fairy exhibit going on and there were dolls and little houses up in the trees; would have liked to have had time to see more but had to go onto Indianapolis.... Ran a marathon here in February 2016. The old dairy building facility was nice. The hiking trails here were very nice. Would be a great place to bring the family for a great outdoor experience.
