Me and friend reached this place from the rear part of the main monastery as this was easily accessible by car and reached the old ruins of a fort/monastery, which gave a bird's eye view of the entire area down below, including Dhankar Gompa.

This is another ancient monastery at Dhankar. The new monastery is also made but do visit the old one. Experience in narrow stairs and he rooms where Dalai lama himself stayed. One of the gate opens into wide hills beyond.
