My family and I like taking walks through the Mines of Spain. You get amazing views of the Mississippi River. Good for all ages. I also like biking through the Mines of Spain, b/c you don't have much car traffic and there are some nice hills. There is also a parking area near the Catfish Creek where you can drop... More

Awesome place to walk, collect your thoughts, go as a group, or alone. The hiking trails are all scenic and easy to walk on. Some are more challenging for the paths wrapping around the hill side, and you can ride all the way through the Park and decide which area you want to walk, or hike. Beautiful. 1/4 mile to... More

Awesome views of the Mississippi River, trails that go on and on and are usually not very crowded. Many levels of difficulty for all ages. Fall is the best time to visit.

There is a lot of hiking to be had here, and lots of treasures to discover. The best part is looking over the Mississippi, with Dubuque in the background. It's a great way to start a Saturday in fall.

Terrific visitor center is staffed by delightfully knowledgeable people and informative exhibits. The park has well maintained scenic roadways that make the points of interest accessible to everyone. Great hiking trails that have a good variety of lengths and levels of difficulty.

Although we didn't get to spend much time or experience the whole area like we would like to have had but what we did see was great! Julien Dubuque's grave and Monument overlooking the Mississippi River was fantastic. It was a great tribute to a great explorer of the area. It appears there are lots of good hiking trails in... We are a hiking family from New Mexico and had to do a hike while we were in Dubuque. The Mines of Spain does not disappoint! Great trails and fabulous views. It is especially lovely this time of year with the trees turning colors. We will return when we visit again next year!

Great place for a hike with Mississippi views from the bluffs. Some slightly challenging rock climbing. Uncrowded and tranquil, even on a Saturday afternoon!

Thank Carole M
