We encountered a birthday party - they created art and learned about the various puppets. Baird puppet collection was fun! Also beautiful views out to the river

We visited the museum, which is free, and came back the next morning for a guided walk of the neighborhood architecture for a small fee. Our docent was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the area is eye candy for those who love prairie style architecture.

Thanks for the wonderful review and for participating in our architectural walking tour! This is something we offer weekly from June-September because we are located in such a special neighborhood full of prairie style architecture.

The most popular collection are the Bill Baird puppets. Also has works from regional artists. You can spend an hour and see most all of the exhibits.

Thank you for the great review and mentioning our current exhibition of Hava Hegenbarth's work! The exhibit is in one of our temporary galleries and changes out every few months. We have had some great feedback from Hava's fantastic artwork!

A very nice museum for the size of Mason City. Probably the most popular exhibition is the famous puppets of Bill Bard that he made for the movie Sound of Music. There's also many beautiful exhibits of paintings and statues.

Thank you for the wonderful review! You are correct, the Bil Baird puppets are probably the most popular exhibit - people come from all over to see the "Sound of Music" puppets!
