If you are a fan of The Music Man musical then you'll want to browse the Music Man Square. I didn't mind the $10 because I have such great memories of performing in this in high school, seeing the movie a hundred times and even seeing it on Broadway!

Neat place to visit, to see the city scape, museum, and boyhood home of Meredith Wilson. Also, the tour guides were very nice and very informative. Also, a cutout to take your picture in of the music man and librarian.

I parked in the mall parking lot and walked over to the museum. The museum building is beautiful and very modern. I spent over two hours going through the museum. I loved it. The exhibits were well designed and very interesting. I think kids would enjoy seeing it. I loved the many musical instruments. The band uniforms were my favorite... More

Music Man Square is a must see in Mason City. If wanting to visit the museum, attending or holding a event there it will serve all your needs. The museum holds many items from Meridith Wilson life many donated from his wife and estate. There is short film at the end of the tour narrated by Shirley Jones about the... More

Came upon this by accident, all I knew was Meredith Willson and The Music Man. This is an impressive multi-million dollar museum dedicated to Meredith. No idea of how important and talented he was starting as a child. Didn't have enough time to read everything. Plus his boyhood house is next door, that alone is very interesting and well guided.... We were in town watching the Iowa Bulls and decided to do something tourist activities. Stop by Music Man square and took a tour of the home and museum. Before going we didn't know who Merdith Wilson was, our tour guide was a little upset with us for not knowing these details. We figured we had just spent $10 per... More

We decide not to go on tour it was a little small town and quirky. We thought we could just look at exhibition but you had to pay $10 "donation". Did not seem work it. I did like music man the musical when I was younger.

A friend and I went during the summer. It was warm, but inside the museum it felt really good!! There weren't a lot of people there (weekday, early afternoon), so that actually worked out better for us. We were able to ask questions and get answers. I really loved going through his boyhood home!!! It was such a great experience... More
