Awesome tea, beautiful views
Mar 2021
A definite stop on the long journey from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya through the Hatton route! It's typically an awesome place for a cup of fresh Ceylon Tea, plus a slice of Chocolate Cake :)

The last trip we stopped by for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The food was worth the value, came in piping hot and taste fresh. The service of the restaurant staff was pretty great.

As an added bonus, the venue hosts a mini Tea Museum which might be interesting for kids, or tea lovers. It's also got a Tea Shop with an extensive selection of every possible flavor of tea you could think of, plus a range of tea accessories such as tea timers and infusers.

A definite go-to spot for a refreshing cuppa tea!

Feb 2021 • Family
Not much guests very there, but the food was good since we stopped for a break in between Colombo to Nuwara Eliya. Restrooms were cleaned. Thank you for the good service from the kitchen and the staff.

Slow service
Jan 2020 • Friends
We stopped for lunch and while the shrimp salad was nice, the service was extremely slow. The shop is nice and there are fun artifacts/signs related to tea!

A refreshing break during a long drive.
Sep 2020
During a long drive to the hills this can be an amazing stopover for a refreshing break. The chocolate cake is divine and the tea served is always the best (naturally). The tea castle is superbly designed and maintained to a very high standard. The views are breathtaking with the Devon Falls adding a pleasing sight to weary eyes. The tea kiosk / shop offers many items of souvenirs in addition to the variety of tea on sale.

JUST A DISASTROUS LUNCH
Jan 2020
Our group of 13 arrived without reservations and could not be seated immediately; no problem as just looked at the shop [more expensive than the last tea estate visited]. When seat c 1400, we quickly ordered sandwiches. It took some 45M for tea--yes tea, the heart and soul of the place--to arrive. It took more than an hour for our sandwiches to arrive. We asked to speak to the manager, inquiring if this was the level of service to be expected. Whatever was the problem in the kitchen with such a basic order is not reasonable in any circumstances for a humble sandwich, even one with four slices of bread. The manager comped our meal. Such a place should get good to great ratings for the look of the place and the views from the terrace. Only generosity allows a second start.

Amazing place for a tea break
Jan 2020
We chanced upon this place via tripadvisor. this place is really well made and is a delight for tea lovers. lots of tea options in the tea boutique as well as the restaurant. what’s more it’s got a small play area for kids to keep the little ones busy when you shop for tea. would recommend for a short stop as the view from the restaurant is great as well.

Great place for a tea and snack
Dec 2019
The castle is built on a high area for a great view while having a cup of tea. Actually, this place offer tea along with snacks or sandwiches. While enjoying the great view of mountains and Devon falls, you can slip a real taste of Sri Lankan tea.

Excellent place for tea break while travelling Nuwaraeliya to Awissawella highway
Oct 2019 • Couples
Excellent views with amazing place for tea break while travelling Nuwaraeliya to Awissawella highway. We can see Devon water fall from tea castle. Tea pots are very testy and value for the money. Very silent environment and mind free location for long distances travelers.
