We were driving home from Decorah to the Quad Cities. I saw the museum sign and decided to stop. Denise was very welcoming as we entered the door. I had my seven and four year old with me. She was great with my children and they really enjoyed learning about the general store and the one room school house. Thank... More

I only had about an hour of daylight after a very exhausting and long day hiking in and around NE Iowa and western Wisconsin and I passed this spot on my way into the area so I thought I'd stop by if time permitted; I am glad I did. I had NO IDEA that this is where it all started... More

I grew up just a couple of miles from Froelich, Iowa. I remember frequently going to trade at the old general store with my dad. Back then I did not know the significance of this little town. This place brings back some good memories. Miss the beautiful country side of northeast Iowa. This is definitely worth your time to stop... More

This is an extremely enjoyable guided tour. It is very educational. Don't cut it short, be sure to view both videos and tour all buildings.

I'm not a fan of tractors being a city girl but my husband wanted to stop by on a road trip to Dubuque this year. A nice set of buildings and the docent, Denise, gave an in depth and interesting tour of the museum. She was great with my special needs daughter and even let her ring the school bell.... More

My boys and I (ages 4 and 6) had the BEST time at the museum! Our guide, Denise, did a fabulous job of teaching and entertaining the entire group, which included many kids and adults. The schoolhouse and general store are amazing - I actually feel like I know what they looked like "back then". And all of the exhibits... More

Froelich is a tiny town in NE Iowa and is home to the first gas powered tractor. The restored General Store is a fantastic look back into local history and the restored barn is super. A great place to visit, off the beaten track.
