This is a great follow up to the interpretive center. It is a couple easy miles off of the hwy, but worth the stop. Interesting story, beautiful spot

Sergeant Floyd Monument is a fitting tribute to the one and only member of the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery who passed away. Hopefully, the visitors (local and otherwise) will be inspired enough, as I was, to dig deeper into the amazing history of the Lewis & Clark Expedition.

There's so much history about Sioux City that I was unaware of. This is a great 3rd stop after visiting the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and the Floyd River Museum. They really tell a great story of who Sergeant Floyd was and how people have chosen to remember him.

Could use some cleaning as trash has accumulated. Also found out it is known as a meeting place for prostitutes and LG crowd. Definetly don't go alone.

This monument has been refurbished and everything was lovely with great landscaping and the fencing redone. There was a 24 hour vigil during Veterans' Day to honor those who served. A great view of Sioux City and surrounding area, too.

Sgt. Floyd's memorial is a must see for Lewis and Clark or history buffs, and it's a quick hop off the road for thru-travelers. The monument is impressive, as is the view, and the only downside is that the museum with more information on the importance of the expedition and monument doesn't open until 10 on Saturdays, so if you're... We made a quick stop since this was right off the interstate. Plenty of parking. Information boards line the path up to the obelisk. Great tribute to Floyd. Information plaques on each side of the obelisk. Great view and nice stop to stretch your legs!

Basically an Overlook with a great View and a history of Sergeant Floyd from the Lewis and Clark expedition. Impressive Monument looking like the Washington Monument in DC.
