A lovely bridge, you can recognize it from its appearance int the movie Bridges of Madison County (Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood). Next to it a giftshop, a charming place to look around. Lots of local products and of course dvd's of the movie. We...More

To reach the bridge we had to drive along a very bumpy dirt road. That said, when we arrived the bridge looked wonderful. One of the few with the river flowing beneath it.This bridge also has a ghostly tale. (Details of bridges are printed out...More

I love how Winterset has taken care of this historic gem in Madison County. There exist 2 paths to either side of the bridge. It even has a small gift shoppe to the northwest. Go and enjoy the history and beauty of Madison County!

One of the 6 remaining covered bridges, and an important one. Follow highway signs carefully and yes, you do have to drive a little while on gravel roads to get to it. There is a gift shop in a wooden cabin next door, but not...More

We followed route 92 West, out of Winterset, and then a left onto Roseman Bridge Rd for about 10 minutes. This bridge was very impressive. And even though I walked over the bridge more than once. My wife and I drove in from both directions,...More

This covered bridge is about eight miles West of Winterset. Lots of gravel roads to get to it. It was very peaceful. There was a gift shop to the West of it, but it was not open when we were there.

We drove quite a while to get to the bridges and they were nice to look at briefly. Sadly, graffiti marred the old timey beauty. Story of this bridge very cool!

When I colleague told me that the bridges of the movie The Bridges of Madison County were just a step way from Des Moines, and by chance I was around in Iowa, I did not think twice! The weather was perfect and the trip was...More

Enjoyed this bridge. After reading the story it spooked us. So when walking over the bridge we thought we heard a noice. Gift shop was closed though.

You probably could, but it would not be a place that I could see working well for the event. It's way out of town, very dusty roads, not a lot of parking and, being outside, you never know what the weather will do to a... More
