We did the 4 day trek in June. We booked with one of the small travel agencies in Santa Marta who quoted the same price as everyone else (800,000) but were able to haggle a bit. We ended up going with TurCol who you can...More

To begin with I would like to say wow, what a trek. The views on the way is magnificent. Rolling green hills, mountains in the horizon, so many colourful butterflies and a lost city that is more than just that one famous picture. I would...More

This is one of the hardest but also one of the most beautiful things I've ever done. The trek is very exhausting but you see so many amazing things. The people in our group but especially our guides Enrique and Mathias from Expotur were great....More

Did this trek in early May after some fellow travellers recommended Expotur to me and I wasn't disappointed! Aris (guide) and Emilio (translator) were extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly and this ensured we had the best experience possible. The food and snacks provided, were sumptuous,...More

This is not easy but is truly a special experience. We went during the off-season so it was HOT but there were literally less than 30 people at the entire archeological site, which was fantastic. It IS in the jungle, so bring insect repellant. Even...More

Really enjoyed our trek to the lost city. We went with expotur but you could go with whichever company, they all offer the same food, lodging etc. The only difference is expotur has bigger groups. We had great guides, an awesome group of hiking companions...More

Had a fantastic time on the tour with Expotur, both the guide (Jhon) and the translator (Daniel) were incredibly knowledgable! Food was really good and there was always enough to fill you up, regular snacks were also included. The walk itself also wasn´t as difficult...More

Had a great time, food was tasty, tour guides were informative and good people and despite the pictures and other reviews the actual destination is beautiful. Still a bit expensive but no regrets. :) :)

This was one of the best trips I have done, Expotur were great. I e-mailed Expotur asking for details, they got back to me within 24 hours giving me full details of the tour, price, dates etc. When I went to their office to pay...More

It is not cheap, but it is worth it. I am rather not big fun of high temperatures and high humidity and I managed to make it, however there were moments when I was asking myself 'do I really needed it'. We chosen Expotur because...More

Hi, is that an option to do the hike with a 1.5 years old kid on the backpack carrier? The period would be mid-end December

I definitely would NOT recommend this at all no matter what kind of physical shape you are in. There is no way to abort the trip if things aren't going well. Not only would you be putting you child at risk, you would also... More

Almost everyone I have talked to has got sick. Is that because of the food or the purified water? And if it's the water, how can you avoid this? Really just wanna get sick?

No one I went with got sick and there was over 20 of us. The food was always cooked well and the refillable water was rain water but it was absolutely fine!
