Spent the day in Concordia KS to see the Orphan train museum, the Convent, and the POW camp. Susie arranged it all for us; we felt like royalty on our personal tours and learned much from the local citizens who took their time to show us around each of the locations: kudos to Susan at the Orphan Train, Paul at... This is one of the best information places we have ever visited. It is staffed by enthusiastic and very informative volunteers who truly have a passion for their city and its history. We thought the brick wall on the side of the building looked interesting, but after hearing about how the wall came about, we walked away with a much... More

This is a very unusual wall sculpture made by forming ech brick to fit exactly with the surrounding bricks to create a wall depicting the history and interesting landscapes of this very interesting town in Cloud Kansas, Kansas

Hard to find where to park don't give up! Amazing building. Be sure to check the outside of the building. Once inside the attendants are friendly and immediately start to tell you all the historical benefits of the town. Lots of information crammed into one small building.

I had no idea what to expect when I decided to stop at the "longest sculpted brick mural in the US". It was amazing. The 140' long and 15' high wall contains 6400 carved bricks and is the outside wall of the Cloud County Convention Center located right on Hwy 81 and 6th St. There is a brochure available on... While stopping at a red light in Concordia, KS, I noticed this wall......a mural made from carved bricks. We went inside and Suzue told us the entire story. Two artists were hired to design the mural and then carve the design on unfired bricks, after which the bricks were then fired and put into place on the 140 ft. Wall.... More

This is right off Hwy 81 and a quick stop, they say it is the largest carved wall mural, Very impressive, the whole wall is just hard to take in, you need to pay attention to the detail and you will find little hidden items in the carving, amazing how they put this together, the people in the museum and... I "borrowed" my title from the Wall brochure as I could not think of words to adequately define it. This wall is so amazingly put together, if you bypass, you will be missing out on a wondrous piece of beautiful architecture. The three dimensional mural measures 140' wide x15 'high, includes 6400 individually hand carved bricks and depicts 23 events/structures... More

The mural is amazing..but when an enthueastic volunteer in the tourism office explains process and technique the mural comes to life.😆 Concordia has done a wonderful job of inviting visitors into the town. Stop in and see 1918-1919 'sampler' quilt on display as well as antique cars and memorabilia.

I love driving through Concordia, just so I can see this gorgeous mural. I visit only once a year, for a family reunion, but this wall is something to admire. Truly amazing.
