Enjoyed the museum and old town. We went in March so not everything was open but it was fun and interesting anyway.

I guess we arrived at the wrong time of year, or our expectations were much higher. Everything was closed and this was not mentioned on the internet. From what we saw, we would not go back even if it was open.

Part of the Trolley Tour we took. Expected more, Sam (13) and Dad were disappointed. Maybe it would be better driving there and walking the grounds.

This just made my heart happy...homes for retired veterans. The only complaint I have is that so many of the homes really need repair and upgrading but I love that they are helping veterans.

There is really not much to look at. A lot of old buildings with not much excitement to them. Take a look if you want.

Fort Dodge Veterans Home was starting place for The American Legion Legacy Ride. It is also a neat area to see all the stone buildings. Visit a veteran at the soldiers home.

We took the trolly to Fort Dodge and leaned about the history. We did not get out to look or see anything, but it was very clean and looked interesting. The trolly tour there was great.

Visitors can take self-guided tours of the grounds during daylight hours. A small museum located in the library is open every day from 1 to 4.
